They say good things come to those who wait, but last Saturday at the HSTC Mutt March, I learned that great things come when the timing is exactly right.
For two years, I have been building the foundation of Mermaid & Bear Pet Concierge. Many of you have been asking me since day one, “Karen, when are you going to bake for the pups again?” I knew I had to be patient. I wanted to ensure my concierge care was firmly established so that when I finally stepped back into the kitchen, I could do it with 100% of my heart, faith, and a commitment to Nutritional Integrity.
The Return to the Oven:

The response on Saturday was, quite simply, incredible. While my high-end concierge care remains at the forefront of what I do, it’s clear that the baking is now stepping into the picture "big time."
This pup knows what a good treat looks and smells like!
But I haven't just been waiting; I've been researching, testing, and perfecting. For me, Bear's Beach Biscuits are about transparency. I’m not just adding ingredients to "look good" on a label. Every recipe is formulated with intention—adding the appropriate amounts of every ingredient, mixed exactly right for a dog's health. Whether it's ensuring the organic turmeric is paired with organic black pepper for activation or using freshly ground organic flax for superior bioavailability paired with organic chia seeds for skin and coat health, I want these levels to be truly helpful. This isn't just marketing; it's my passion for their well-being.

The highlight of the day wasn't just the sales; it was the visitors.
Getting to see Shaun Kelly (Wrigley’s mom and original client) and Dottie’s best friend stop by the booth was such a blessing. Being able to give back to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast in Wrigley and Dottie’s honor was exactly why I started this journey. We aren't just a business; we are a tribe, and it is a privilege to use this passion to support the local causes that mean so much to all of us.

What’s Next?
Now that the launch is official, I’m heading back to the kitchen. While I continue to provide the dedicated concierge care you've come to trust, I am making room for this true passion to grow. Every batch will continue to be prayed over and crafted with the integrity your dogs deserve.
It takes a tribe and I am eternally grateful for ours and theirs love for this crazy Mermaid and her buddy Bear.
